Welcome back to INSIGHTS, the annual gathering of Duke’s Professional Communicators: the writers, strategists, designers, marketers, and storytellers shaping Duke’s voice.

The purpose at the heart of INSIGHTS hasn’t changed: connecting those who carry Duke’s voice across our schools, units, and Health System entities. This year, we continue what we started. We gather to learn from one another, recognize the work that elevates Duke’s voice, and strengthen the connections that make every part of our work stronger.

Annual INSIGHTS Awards

Award Categories

A person who has quickly made a meaningful impact through fresh ideas, strategic thinking, or early leadership in communications.

Someone with long-standing service who has shown deep commitment, continuity, and sustained excellence in advancing the university’s communications mission.

Outstanding use of social media or digital platforms to engage, inform, or inspire audiences in innovative and effective ways.

A person who led a creative campaign or communications project that achieved outsized results with limited resources — demonstrating smart strategy, clever execution, and adaptability.

A person who showed exemplary collaboration across departments, units, or teams to drive forward integrated communications efforts and shared institutional goals.

Given annually to the standout communicator whose work exemplifies the spirit of the Duke INSIGHTS community.

Beyond the INSIGHTS Awards, we’re inviting Duke’s communications community to share photos, short videos, and team moments that capture our work in action. Selected submissions will be featured throughout the Summit.

Opening Fireside Chat: President Vince Price and VP Frank Tramble launched the summit with a candid conversation about the evolving role of communications and the power of telling Duke’s story with clarity and trust.
